Bizz Johnson Extension Feasibility Study

The Bizz Johnson Extension Feasibility Study is exploring the feasibility of extending the existing Bizz Johnson National Recreation Trail another two miles eastward along an abandoned railroad grade to connect with the existing 3.5-mile Skyline Path at the intersection of State Route 36 and Skyline Road. This Study will be ongoing throughout 2026 and 2027.

This Study aims to accomplish the following goals:

  • Identify the necessary steps to completing an extension.

  • Understand preferred design elements of such a trail through community surveys, in-person events, and conversations with local stakeholders.

  • Develop conceptual designs for an extension.
